Ovarian reserve
The EDELVITAL™ Ovarian reserve test is a Fluorescent immunoassay that refers to the reproductive potential that is left within a woman’s two ovaries based on the number remaining and quality of eggs. Diminished ovarian reserve, refers to the loss of normal reproductive potential in the ovaries due to a lower count, age, or quality of the remaining eggs.
The Rapid quantitative test detects the Anti-Mullerian hormone. AMH levels strongly correlate with basal antral follicle count (AFC) measured by transvaginal ultrasonography.
The test offers the opportunity to be used as a screening test for women wishing to delay childbirth. AMH also indicates perimenopausal transition within a 3–5 year period.
The EDELVITAL™ AMH test can be used at any time during the menstrual cycle, giving reliable results within 15 minutes and a clear indication of fertility, which is known to decline with age in most women.
